With sadness in my heart I announce the recent death of my cousin Raulito.

A few years back I did a thread on a Love token he had gifted me when I visited him in Puerto Rico.. LOVE TOKEN - Is now mine - 1883 Silver Dime - 2nd Thread | Coin Talk

My grandmother had an 1883 dime love token too. It was her birth year.

That's one of the cool things about this hobby. Sometimes a coin has a story attached, and the story makes the coin forever a treasure.

 

So sorry for your loss Ed. The bond you had with your Cousin is a wonderful thing you will cherish for ever.

My cousin survived 53 years from Epilepsy.. An insect bite and bad reaction took his life.. He went into cardiac arrest and didn't make it.
It happened in their 2nd home in Florida.

 

I feel your pain. My Nephew @26 passed away from "C" shortly after he finished building his dream house. At least he had the pleasure of seeing it completed. The house remains in the family.

 

I did a 2 hour Metal Detecting hunt to try to keep my mind off the situation. But it still hit me that he's gone.. I'm so sad


I did find 1 Silver Ring

 

I hope you did a finger and toe check afterward. The temp here has been in the mid teen's.

My fingers froze even with gloves on but after so many years of detecting It doesn't bother me much.
