I had a very similiar find to johndo yesterday. This is the most high-grade old bill that I've ever found in circulation before. I rank it with my top 3 circulation finds ever. This bill like johndo's is virtually in CU condition, it is so sad that such high-grade bills like this are found after decades of preservation and then spent but I am glad that I rescue what I can.
I seem to have better luck finding older large bills in CU condition than I do of finding older $10's or lower denomination.
Just goes to show it still can be found and a nice one at that. I've actually begun searching again. I get paid once a month and gets deposited so I withdraw cash as needed. Many business like to get paid in smaller notes so it's not hard to get rid of them. Nothing real good yet but I'm in the hunt mainly through singles and fives.
