So, the wife was out, the kids were occupied and I had nothing else to do on a dreary looking Saturday morning, so I thought I'd go out and do some copper scavenging at the local. Well after two hours of digging through box after box of low and medium grade coins I finally came up with these two beauties.

I don't think I did too badly, I'm just on the fence about the 62, it's either a XF45 or an AU50 and I can't decide which one.

How much did you pay? I like the obverse toning on the 27, and the 1862 looks about AU55 to me.

The local WHAT? Bank? Wal-Mart? School playground?

Inquiring minds want to know where one can scavenge great coins like that.
