Just bought this one. I liked this one because the Minerva on the reverse is not one you see everyday. If you look closely you can see that Minerva holds victory in her hand. I quite like this depiction of Minerva. It adds some variety to the series. While not ultra-rare, this is a scarce coin. The other thing I like about this coin is the portrait. The portraits of coins struck in the first couple of years of Domitian's reign are interesting and youthful in appearance. This is in stark contrast with the superb even regal portraits one sees on the coins of 85-88 CE. Another unusual reverse type I would like to get is the Maia reverse holding a dove. They are exceedingly rare. Please post your coins that you bought because of the reverse type. Nice addition! I really like this Minerva reverse with the little Victory. It's a pity it didn't become part of the regular issues. Domitian AR Denarius, 3.40g Rome mint, 82 AD RIC 99 (R). BMC 25.
