I'd like some too... because yet the best image I can have is with my digital camera.... Really good images, but a bit complicated and long to get...
Just like everything else there are a large quantity of scanners out there and some work well for coins and some don't. My suggestion is to just use a digital camera. Nowadays they are getting cheaper and cheaper and easier to use. And with some of them you can get a memory card that will hold virtually thousands of pictures. One of the cards I have in one of my cameras is large enough to shoot 2500 pictures at 3.5 megapixels and at 6.75 it still can get about 1800 pictues. So why bother with a scanner. As to how to take with a digital camera, just practice. There I would suggest using outdoors and placing the coin on a black background.
