    Hey gang,

I have been thinking about picking up a digital scale for my coin hobby. At the moment, I have some proof halves I can't tell if they are silver or not as they sound like it but I want to be sure.

Any advice on what kind of scale to buy and from where/how much? I don't need the BEST but something that will meet my needs.

    Thanks,

    Erin

You'll want something that can at least go to a hundredth (.01) of an ounce.
And can also measure in grams.
This precision often means that the scale will top-out at about a pound.
That somewhat limits its use as a postal scale.

    I have two scales.
My precision one weighs to one thousandth of an ounce (.001) but has a top end of only 6 ounces.
My other one only weighs to a tenth of an ounce (.1) but goes to something like 32 pounds.
