I have a 1979 SBA, and I believe it's the P mintmark. However, I can't tell as it looks like a P, but isn't real clear. I really don't believe it's the 'S' mintmark 'variety' as it kind of looks like a P, but is kind of like a blob. Is anyone aware of any 'P' mintmark errors on 1979 SBA's? I didn't see anything listed when I ran a search on google.
It's not uncommon for the mint mark to be unclear. It can be casused by filled dies, die wear and a poorly made punch.
