Hello everyone! I'm photographing my boyfriend's, deceased fathers coin collection as a Christmas gift. I am framing the photos and I would like to add a quote with some of the pictures. Does anyone know any sayings or quotes about coin collecting or coin collectors? Any help is appreciated! Thank you, Nelly
“Authors, like coins, grow dear as they grow old: It is the rust we value, not the gold.” -Alexander Pope If he was a toned lincoln collector, you might say... Lincoln cents grow dear as they grow old: It is their toning we value, not the copper.” ?????????????
They are U.S coins. I wish I could take a peek at them but he is standing right next to me and it is a surprise. Any quotes would be helpful though! THank you!
“One coin in the money-box makes more noise than when it is full” “Before you can hit the jackpot, you have to put a coin in the machine” “Silver and gold are not the only coin; virtue too passes current all over the world”
I put these in the other thread too... • A penny saved is a penny earned • Don't nickel and dime me • A nickel for your thoughts • It's all about the Benjamins • Show me the money • Bring home the bacon • See a penny pick it up and all the day you'll have good luck. • If I had a nickel for everytime I (fill in the blank). • Another quarter in the swear jar... There are some web sites that have coin jokes / humorous phrases like: You’ve just moved to the top of my ‘Want List.’ and"Want to get Certified?" You can just Google keywords like "coin collecting humor" to find more like this...
