    Satin and Proof Presidential $$$$$$$$$

According to an article in this week's issues of CoinWorld, The US Mint still plans to offer individual proof Presidential Dollars for sale. In addition, Uncirculated four and eight coin sets are also planned. The Uncirculated coins will feature the satin finish currently used on Mint Set coins.

These individual options will provide collectors with a way to obtain individual Presidential Dollars from the Mint without buying an entire Proof or Mint Set. These to-be-released coins and sets were not included in the Mint's holiday catalog since pricing is still being determined.

The proofs have more eye appeal than business strikes. A great idea and oppurtunity for the series.

I just got my unc sets ( P,D & P+D) in the mail and the coins are the nicest examples by far. They are way sharper and cleaner than even the first day covers I've been getting. Is it just me, or are these coin sets superior to all other examples? I'm planning on using these sets ( with the proofs ) to fill some albums

Just to clarify, the Proofs do not have the satin finish.

so let me get this straight.....there are business strikes ( those found in first day covers, rolls, bags and in general circulation ) proof stikes ( sold in sets, individually or in annual type sets ) and satin finish strikes ( found in the new 4 or 8 piece sets )???

10 more years and we'll be through...god this series is going down as a historical effort on the part of the mint.
