Anyone know the difference between the satin finish dimes and regular dimes in this set? What about the Half dollar coin? Any of this worth adding to your collection?
The Mint (in their infinite wisdom) made the Mint Sets in Satin finish. All of the coins. My thought is that they wanted to sell more coins in rolls and they wanted coin collectors to buy a roll of coins to get their MS coins instead of buying a Mint set and getting all of them at a little over face value. It remains to be seen if the Mint will continue their Satin finish on the continuing years. I understand that they had significant trouble with the finish because it wasn't uniform on the coins.
