Ok so we bought a ton of slabbed coins and I came across one that was just a sample slab by NGC. Ok I laughed at this but was curious what everyone else would say. It's just a 1960 D Roosevelt Dime NGC Sample On the back they wrote Rare old holder $20. Now it wasn't graded but could very well be a MS65 but is it just me or would some one actually pay that for an old sample NGC Slab? I'm just tempted to crack the sucker open.
Which might be worth the most. The old slab or a raw 1960 D Roosevelt ? Leavit it alone until you learn more about the market/ IMHO
Depends on which sample slab it is. Yes some sample slabs are worth quite a bit. The highest price I know of for a sample slab has been over $300, but that wasn't for an NGC sample.
Insufficient options to vote. I don't know if the coin or the slab is worth a lot, but there are certainly those people who collect the sample slabs. Chris
naw man why? its not worth it and I personally think the old pcgs.ngc slabs are neat , besides who knows in the future may be worth a premium
