Hey all, There's quite a few posts here I have read through regarding the different sleeve brands, and materials of which they are made. However, I didn't see a lot on actual descriptions, weights, and experiences with specific brands, especially comparing them. I am looking at the Safgard (same makers of Saflips) and Supersafe currency sleeves. Both are allegedly non-vinyl and safe to be around currency and coins. Supersafe lists them as 5 mils front and back. Can't Safgard specs. Anyone have any experience with both? How do they compare in sturdiness/flimsiness? Which is easier to use? Thanks!
Sorry an answer hasn't popped up for you. I delayed answering because I don't have a definitive answer, but just more info to potentially muddle your brain. I and many others use the Mylar holders from Denly's (denlys.com). They are very good quality holders, but I can't find info on their thickness. They feel like the very same material and thickness of the saflips though, for what it's worth. There are thicker holders, which I don't like as it just seems to be too much bulk. I cut my holders to size in a paper cutter so that they are the size of the note, and the Denly's holders will slice easily.
I don't have any experience with either brand you're asking about, but would fully endorse and recommend currency sleeves from Russell and Linda at the Sellitstore. I've been using them for years. http://www.sellitstore.com/mylar.htm
Thanks folks. I'll scope out both! I did already a couple of the supersafe brand, so we will see how that goes. I don't have any high value bills to protect, just fun stuff, so no big issue in trying out a few brands!
