my dad brought me a few back from his first tour, and i heard they are going for a lot since they changed it and hes kinda six feet under. is there any truth to it? i have a few, but he told me they sell them in bundles over there, but its not like anyone is just gonna mosey on over and get em lol
NO! is the easy answer. Take a look at Ebay ... thousands of pre-Saddam notes can easily be found. So, i really doubt they are worth much at all! I bought a full set for like $10 or so. There is also a difference in Iraqi Dinars. There is the early Swiss Dinar that is much mroe valuable then the newer dinars that were in circualtion before hsi death. Just to keep from giving really bad info lol, maybe post some scans so we can be sure. You could also check my site out... any Iraqi notes i have listed there are very common and not worth alot. here they are ^^ along with a canadian note and a mexican note i got (probably not worth much over face value im sure but theyre still pretty!)
all the itaqi notes pictured are worth a buck or so in chcu condition, value goes down from there with wear. The other notes are worth more for the main reason being the exchange rate is much better. The canadian note is worth close to $20 US regardless of numismatic value CHCU is $25, and less with wear. The Mexican note is close but not as uch as the canadian note. Depending onthe issue date, it ranges from $5.50 to $6.00 in CHCU.. face value or anything less.
