Jim Charlton, founder of the Charlton Press, passed away this past weekend at the age of 102. This is what Bret Evans (president of the RCNA and editor of Canadian Coin News) had posted: Jim Charlton was considered by many to be one of the main 'fathers' of Canadian numismatics. I last saw Jim at his 100th birthday celebration at the Windsor RCNA in 2011. He lived a full life - we all wish we could live as long and healthy as he did.
Wow, 102 years, that's quite a lifetime. Thanks very much to Mr. Charlton for your contributions to our hobby, and may you rest in peace sir! I have several of Charlton's books on my shelves.
