I posted years ago on a thread on CoinTalk how I got into coin collecting. It was over 10 years ago when I found out my wife was going to have our first child. A friend of mine I work with who has been getting the mint and proof sets from the Mint since the 50's suggested I get a subscription for those sets for my daughter. I took his advise and that's what started my collector bug. Well my friend retired at the end of 2014. Found out this morning my friend died from complications while having knee surgery. You just never know. Thanks Sonny for getting me into this great hobby. Rest in Peace my friend.
Sorry for your loss it's so sad that the good die young! Nice of you to honor him here ,may he rest in peace.
Thanks everyone. I debated whether to even post it but since he got me into coin collecting and hence I found this forum decided to make the post. Thanks again everyone.
I also lost a close friend after "minor" surgery. Bottom line, if the pain isn't more than a 4, avoid surgery. btw I've had surgery where the pain was made worse by surgery.
So sorry for your loss. I know we've dealt with one another in the past but don't know one another. Just know that you're in my thoughts.
