    Am I to assume with the brass content or surface, (not sure) that is why these look like someone spilled chocolate milk on most of the ones in circulation? I thought I wouldn't mind having some of these as long as I didn't have to pay someone for them but everything I find looks awful. (Higher Power Above) forbid I clean one, I will most likely get removed from the forums for cleaning something.:goofer:

    I'm curious because if they can be handled and circulated and still be in rather good condition I will continue looking, otherwise I am moving on to something else.

    This is what the US Mint has to say about it:

    Apparently they think the browning color is attractive, especially if you rub it enough to wear through it to the bright color. Sort of like rubbing a statue's nose until it's bright.

    Gosh when they word it like that it makes me want one. Then I look at what I have and like most of my wheat pennies better lol....guess that's my answer, Thanks!
