Hi, I found an interesting 2009 Sacagawea gold dollar with the number 200 struck oddly on the front. Has anyone seen this before?

Not that "specific coin" but folks through out the history of coins have been counter-stamping different things into coins.

These are considered damaged and it took some collectors quite a long time to convince the TPG's that "Chop Marks" in US Trade Dollars should NOT be considered damage. Even though they "technically" are.

Hi Gravy this is a case of someone adding something to the coin, there is no way the mint would add something like that to the coin so therefore a Post Mint Damage PMD for short

that damage was made from a counting machine.

Welcome to CT Gravy. Sorry, but your coin is Post Mint Damage (PMD). Spend it.

You might want to check your local coin club. Some times they release a batch of coins into circulation with sequential numbers counter stamped into them in efforts to get people interested in collecting and possibly atending the local con show. One such club recently did this and if you brought the coin to the local coin show you won money if your number wss drawn by a random number generator.
