hey guys, I was putsing around today and looked at my cent sorter, wishing I could have a ryedale. Then something hit me. I went to the ryedale website and looked at the gallery a bit. I realized that all the ryedale is, is a reg. sorter(picked mine up for $40), fed by a wheel similar to a coin sorter at a bank. so unless that turning wheel and bent piece of plastic costs $400, that thing is way over priced. also, does he sell the top mechanism sepratly? if not, any of you mechanichal guys up to the challenge of makeing the top piece? here is a link to the pic: http://www.ryedalecoin.com/images/APP2.jpg BY the top part, I mean everything but the actual machine that does the separating. the hopper, wheel and engine to turn it, and bent piece of plastic to feed machine. so lets hear what you guys have to say!! thanks in advance for the feedback.
Ever give this a look? Not my product, but I have been looking into getting one for christmas. http://www.jmdaniel.com/
yes i've thought about that, but the sorter I bought will sort them as fast as you can feed. I think I'll email andy and see what he thinks.
I would be interested in getting one of these too, but the price seems steep, although I could sell the coppers on eBay and eventually make my money back. To me it seems like you get what you pay for in terms of speed. The one in the link above says 1,500 an hour, which is 60% of a box, while the Ryedale seems to sort extremely fast.
I guess it depends on how many you actually plan on sorting. If just a box a day then the slower one would be fine if you attach a hopper and let it do it's thing.
how many of you guys already own a sorter? I emailed andy about selling just the upper portion, so there is a chance he may start selling those. how many of you would buy one? I might need some people who would be interested to get him to sell some.
