Heya everyone! I decided to hold up another contest. :eat: What to do? Each round, I will give ya'll a passage and you have to tell me what's wrong with something I said. Some of them will be coin related, others won't. Sometimes there will be a few things wrong with the passage, some only one thing, or there might not be anything wrong with it! :goofer: Please note that you are NOT looking for punctuation errors! Only lines that are not true. For example: If the passage has a sentence like "The item costs a dollar, so I paid with the 3 quarters I had", that would be wrong! Who Can Participate? ALL members that have been a part of this forum since October 6th, 2009 can participate! Your Answer ALL ANSWERS MUST BE SENT THROUGH A PM!!! If someone posts the answer in this thread, I will close the contest and that will be the end. Your answer must include: 1. Is there something wrong with the passage? If so, how many things? 2. The sentence(s) that's wrong with the passage 3. Why it's wrong Prizes! There will be a first and a second place only. If some people got really close and tried extremely hard, I will give out a third place prize. The prizes will be: 1st place: Pre-1964 Silver, along with some random IHC's, Buffalo's, etc... 2nd place: 40% Silver Kennedy's with some random world coins 3rd place: Wheat Pennies Round One's Passage It's Wednesday, the 7th, 2009. This morning I decided to head down to the coin shop. I knew the dealer very well and thought he was a really nice guy. I always buy a few bulk loads of silver every week and he would give me sweet deals all the time! Today, I decided to start my very own type set, but wanted all the coins that were going to be in the set graded by PCGS. I bought the following from him to start the set off: 1922-D MS66 Peace Dollar 1934 MS64 Standing Liberty Quarter 1953 MS66 Franklin Half Dollar 1943-S MS66 RD Lincoln Cent He gave these all to me for a low price off $375. I knew I'd be back next week for more! ALL answers must be to me by Friday the 16th! Thank you and good luck!
Alrighty, so far so good. I've been getting a few PM's and some have been correcting my punctuation and form of writing. I know I'm terrible at writing, so please remember, this contest is NOT about correcting my mistakes in writing a phrase, rather looking for non-true statements ONLY! Thank you and good luck!
Another thing I forgot to mention. It does not matter if you were the first one to answer correct. These are rounds, so it works as the process of elimination, not who got it "first". Good luck!
DANGIT! LOL I found grammatical errors but nothing wrong with the statement just yet! LOL Just gotta keep looking.
Contestants, PLEASE take your time with this contest. You have to read over it a few times before noticing the mistake(s). Please read it slowly and carefully before sending the PM!
