normally i don't buy world notes, but the price was right on this one (someone really needed money (a friend of mine) and sold me this at $35 USD)

currency conversion values at $3,200+ USD

i think i did fairly well

what should i do to protect it?

Lasers should do the trick. Oh, and a robot. One of the thick currency sleeves between something stiff like cardboard. Sweet note!

Actually you paid just a little under value. Russia had a restructuring of their monetary system in 1998(or maybe it was 1997). Yours is dated 1995 and is the old ruble. The highest denomination now is 5,000 ruble, compared to 500,000 ruble. 1 new ruble is equal to 1,000 old rubles. The note itself is worth about $50-$60. You still did great!:D
