Russian oddity

    I am not sure what this is. Looks like the first class order but it's not. Maybe a replica?

    The person on it is Mikhail Kutuzov, the Russion Field Marshall of the early 19th Century. The text at the top says DBOR Mint. Not sure what DBOR is, maybe the name of a mint, maybe an abbreviation.

    Ah! I thought Moneti itself was mint. Thanks for the correction.

    And, yes, being an English speaker I wrote DBOR instead of DVOR, transliterating only the non-English looking characters, even though when I read it I did so correctly.

    I think if you are to literally translate moneti dvor, it would be coin courtyard which is essentially a mint.

    This is still somewhat an odd item as it does not specify which mint is from whether it is fro Moscow or Leningrad (St. Petersburg). Unless it was made before Moscow mint was open as there was only one mint...
