    Beautiful commemorative!

    I recall reading somewhere that around the time of the Moscow Olympic games in 1980, the Soviet Union would put out dozens of different designs in various denominations.

    What's the size on this coin? (mm diameter or compared to other coins for ballpark reference) Looks to be around the size of a US half dollar..?

    Think this was struck in half ounce or close to. There are 6 different types of gold coins struck in both proof and unc condition. To make things more complicated, some were struck in Moscow and Leningrad mint. And some very rare error gold coins exist such as no mintmark...
