I'm looking for any information or advice for this matter. In Russia in 1911, 50 011 gold coins ( 10 roubles ) were strike by SPB in Petersburg. After revolution , new government of Russia in 1925 unofficial strike the gold coins with the same dies, that were used in 1911 , they made 10000000. The same story happened with 5 gold roubles. Is there any way to figure out, which coin is from Imperil or Red Republic?
From what I understand they just used the same dies from the 1911 dated coins - years ago the 1911 10 rublei coins traded at a premium because of the reported mintage of only 50k. Curiously when the RSFSR and then the USSR were striking the coins, they were also striking Chervonetz coins of the same standard - but the Chervonetz coins were only created for trade in the RSFSR/USSR and would likely not have been accepted in international trade. The Imperialas were known and accepted in international trade, which accounts for their significant numbers in the Nordic Gold Hoard. So the 1911 dated coins were officially restruck again in Goznak mint to be used for international trade, because the RSFSR/USSR could not get international credit and had to pay in gold. Because they likely used the same dies, I am not aware of any distinctions betwixt the Imperialas struck in 1911 and those struck from 1923-6.
well, it's what I just said. Some amount of Imperial gold roubles 1911 were kept in Norway bank, than they were transfer to US. I believe it should be some kind of variety or sing or something to point to 1925 year.
