what are Rubles equal to? As for usd, my girlfriend got a 3 ruble note. it's like a light pink on one side, with an older bald head guy on the right hand side. on the back it says "3" and below it, it's dated 1937..
http://coins2001.narod.ru/bon/3c37.htm - is this the one you're talking about? The older bald head guy is granpa Lenin. This is not 3 roubles but 3 "chervonets" what are like US "eagles" are tens of roubles. On US market it should worth $25-30 in uncirculated condition - that's the numismatic value but not by exchange rate (just is case, since you've asked "what are Rubles equal to?") - this currency was obsolete for decades.
That is it. Same shape even. thank you very much for the help. What are the Russian cents, dollars, ect?
1 chervonets (obsolete) = 10 roubles - that's the only line for the "paper money" forum, the rest are coins 1 rouble = 100 kopeks coin of 50 kopeks is "poltinik" (soon will be obsolete - word "poltinik" is felt like something respectful but contemporal 50 kopeks coin is too small) coin of 25 kopeks is "polu poltinik" (obsolete) coin of 10 kopeks is "grivenik" (obsolete) coin of 5 kopeks is "pitak" (goes the way of "poltinik", contemporal coin is far from 46g of copper from Catherine II period) coin of 1/2 of kopek is "den'ga" (obsolete) coin of 1/4 of kopek is "polushka" (obsolete)
