I was considering the purchase of this coin: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...&ssPageName=ADME:B:WNA:US:12#ebayphotohosting At first glance a good looking 1909 VDB. After enlarging both sides I get the impression that it has been rubbed! What do you think of this coin? Frank
Tough to tell, but the coin is kinda baggy looking. I would also pass on the seller, as I have seen other postings arounds indicating that this is one to avoid.
Frank: At first glance the coin looks great, and then the third look, well, there is just something. I'd pass. Also, as Shortgapbob said: I would pass on this seller.
The coin looks fine, just a bit roughed up from being shaken up and down in a purse with lots of other coins. As already mentioned, 99.6% of 44600 means that 160 or so people thought that he was a scam...
Looks ok to me but I am no expert by a long shot, thing is with a coin that is going to cost a bit, I find it best to try to buy from a store where you can see the thing for real. If that is out of the question then I buy from a seller I know or who comes highly reccomended. Pics dont allways tell the whole story and they can be manipulated unfortunatly.
Thanks I had a feeling about this one, that's why I asked. I have bought coins from enough dealers on ebay to know it's pot luck. If a coin is only a few bucks, I don't have a problem with taking a chance. There is a handfull of them that I would do business with again, but most not. Thank you all for your comments and suggestions! Frank
i don't know, you could be right, there looks to be luster breaks on lincoln's jacket, I'd pass just seeing how baggy it is
