I bought a 1925 S Lincoln cent many years ago and didn't even find out it was an S over S until weeks later when closely examining it. But yes, RPMs are very common.
My first cherrypick was a 1911 S/S wheat RPM-1. I didnt know what it was at the time, the S just looked weird to me. Its what got me to learn more about varieties and kept me collecting coins. I think i was 14, and even spent the money to have it graded by ANACS lol
