i know this will be a simple question for all of you but i'm new at this and have no idea of prices and values of errors yet. while going through pennies yesterday i came across a 1983d rpm.. it's nice but what is the value and also, where can i find a list of rpm values. i tried a few websites but i can't find a general list of the value of rpm's... thanks! oh, here's a pic of it if you want to see it
Check coppercoins for pics and values on most all cent varieties. It is a very good site for anyone searching cents. http://www.coppercoins.com/index.php Bill G
Penidave, could you add a photo of the date also. If the date has similar effect, although it can be much less, it is machine doubling, as it is very flattened. I wouldn't doubt that there is some die deterioration also as Joe says, but I don't think it would account for the extent of the left side of the mint mark as shown. Thanks and nice photo. Jim
here's more pic's. the mm is the only thing on the coin which appears doubled. the date and everything else is not affected. at the bottom of the mm it's shadowing. i really appreciate the help you guys are giving me. thanks so much.
Now that i see a different few it looks more like what Jello said Md and yes you could have just Md on the MM, as well as Die deterioration doubling. JC
