    I'm asking on behalf of someone on another forum, who purchased the coin in an eBay lot of silver rounds/coins.

    No need for replies.
    We found out that it is underweight, and sticks to a magnet.

    It's a cast no matter how you look at it.

    It looks like a pretty poor copy of a Kirin Provincial 7 candareen 2 mace silver coin circa 1900, Y#183. My guess its cast from an electrotype.
