Austrian? Austro-Hungary? What beauty to behold on a most rotten day........it almost brings me joy, but not quite. More photogs are required.......
Well since you led with an RP here's one of my Fav RPs (I have most of one shots plus others but still need the Nickle still lol)
I've got a beautiful Hadrian that I've shared before, probably one of my most aesthetically pleasing denarii. I don't have any reverse proofs, I have a couple of proofs from mint sets though, they're all at home. IMO, if you've seen one you've seen them all, though I do enjoy them; proofs and reverse proofs are beautiful. Laureate bust of Hadrian right "HADRIANVS AVG COS III PP" Roma seated left, holding a branch and spear. "ROMA FELIX"
The first U.S. gold coin was the 1795 $5 gold piece with the Small Eagle reverse. It was a red letter day when I found this piece at a Baltimore coin show.
I take it one doesn't come across a piece like this (in it's present condition) all that often, eh John?
Nothing like some Colorado silver to bring a hint of a smile to your face. Die engraving doesn't get much better . . . . Z
They show up in major auctions, but not that often even at major show, which Baltimore is. The only other one I had seen at a show had once been used for jewelry.
