While looking at this civil war token I picked up for $10, I noticed that it seems to have a rotated die. My other civil war tokens are normal. Is this common? Does it affect the value? Thanks!
Quality control was way off on CWTs I have many with slight rotations to 180 degrees , so no I'd say they aren't worth more . Now Brockages and blank sides are worth more .
Thanks rzage! I don't know much about these, I just pick them up sometimes because of the history behind them.
I started collecting them a couple years ago , they really are nice pieces of history and most are quite reasonable .
Also if you like errors the whole of them are full of various kinds . I myself like the recut #s and lettering .
Yes, that's the one! I saw one at a coin show a while back for $30 (or pretty close to $30). It might still be there, I'm not sure. I'd say it was in average circulated condition. Does that sound like a good price?
The full quote is more compelling (referring to the flag) -- "If anybody attempts to tear it down, shoot him on the spot." Citizens both Northern and Southern were EXTREMELY sensitive about their respective flags.
