Hi, I'm a total newbie when it comes to coins. I found a gold (or golden, perhaps not real god) commerative coin, and I'm trying to figure out what it is and what it's worth. The front face looks somewhat like this one on eBay U.K....

    http://cgi.ebay.ie/32ND-FRANKLIN-D-...itemZ320084421659QQcategoryZ259QQcmdZViewItem

...which describes it as a 1933-1945 "memory coin," except that mine does not have the date "1945" on the right. On the back, the "headline" is "A New Deal," with some text about who Roosevelt is.

Any insights on what I have?

    Thank you!

it is a brass medallion.....mass produced and of NO value whatsoever. If you collect Franklin exunomia, then the price isn't too bad......but otherwise it is NOT worth anything.

I'm not sure when it was produced, but I would guess in 1945....when he died. Whether it has the datge 1945 on the right or not does not make it rare or valuable........

Anyway, HI ! Welcome to the forum !

The stated facts in the auction are all true, and since the seller is in Ireland, you have to expect a little blarney in the sales hype! :D
