It spent time on a street getting hit by cars over and over. It didn't come from the mint like that. It's a very beat up dime and worth 10 cents. Better luck next time.

what you have is called a post mint damaged coin which in simple and blunt terms the coin is only worth 10 cents seen many in my change and on the ground

Yeah, we have plenty of clues. Look at the coin and tell us how it happened at the mint.

Not only clues, but we have all the hard evidence needed for a positive declaration of damage!

Welcome to CT @ginosne. While it is best to post photos Full Image instead of thumbnail, I didn't even bother to open your photos as I could tell it was simply PMD, Post Mint Damage, meaning its condition happened after it left the mint, therefore only worth face value.
I'd give you a nickel for it. LOL

OK, just explain how this could have occurred during the minting process.Part of coin collecting is knowing and understanding how coins are made. The minting process is a pretty straightforward manufacturing process, not some mysterious procedure where unexplainable things happen. All errors have at least one thing in common, there has to be an explanation how it occurred.
