I found a very strange 1989-D Roosevelt Dime that has raised knots on both the obverse and reverse, I ruled out punch marks because there is no indention on the side opposite the knots, I would love some opinions on what this might be..and my Washington Quarter has a "grey" reverse, the obverse is normal??? defplanchetdime1 (1).jpg defplanchetdime (1).jpg 20200418_174136 (2).jpg defplanchetdime1 (1).jpg

I think the dime has heat damage. When a clad coin gets hot enough, sometimes a bit of trapped gas or grease between the layers will expand and produce that kind of bump. It seems hard to believe, but I've seen quite a few examples.

The quarter that's discolored on one side probably just got exposed to something corrosive or oxidizing on that side.
