    Hi all again,

Here is the dime I bought at the coin show. I really feel this is manufactured. I didn't know this was even a possible error, if it is. I bought it in a lot with some other coins. So if it is fake, I would be out about $3.

Sorry about the quality of the pictures. Any advice is much appreciated.

It's a fake. The obverse was ground or machined off.

I figured as much. I almost put it back, but it was getting late and well... lol Maybe I will sell it back to him next time.

Turned in a lathe, held in small " softjaws" and faced off. Se the spot in the middle? The tool bit was below center just a tad, lol.

Yup, I saw that after I got home. The dealer seemed a little shady. I should have said no when he told me that he paid $20 for an off center penny. After I offered him $2 for it. He seemed a little short with me. :)
