    Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum. I have only been collecting paper money for about a year, since coins have gotten so expensive. I am a law student so I cannot really afford too much right now. I mostly specialize in U.S. and Romanian paper money. I have built a decent sized collection about 250-300 notes, most are new world notes. However, for the two countries I specialize in I have much older rarer notes. For United States notes specifically I have been trying to gather examples of all $1 bills. My next U.S. paper money purchase will probably be a $1 educational.I have order 100 mylar cases from Denlys and I am planning on getting a Vario binder and pages soon. I will post some images of my collection soon anyone have any tips? Also if you have any Romanian paper money especially pre-1950s I would be interested in trading or buying.

I should probably add my United States collection has a few nationals as well as some PCGS graded CU examples of the newer $1 funnybacks and blue seals. I also have a few confederate bills and a few Louisiana obsoletes.

The French derived designs of the pre WWII Romanian notes makes them a very decorative and well designed series that should be reasonably affordable.

Once the US abandoned the larger notes they bacame pretty boring.

They have actually gotten quite expensive in the last 5-7 years as far as foreign currency goes. Of course nowhere near U.S. currency prices but still. Some of the rarer notes go for about $1000 in decent condition. Some of the 1870s and 1880s notes go for a few thousand dollars in decent condition (F-VF).

The designs for the older notes are quite beautiful. Also some of the 1930 notes were actually printed by the Bank of England.

I've had some of their 1966 currency.
