Roman Women on Coins

    For some reason,Roman Emperors liked to issue silver denari featuring their wives,mothers and sisters.Maybe they wanted to be seen as kinder,gentler tyrants.This practice seemed to have died out around the middle of the 3rd century.There seem to be a lot of Julias...here are a few of the noble ladies. :)
