Recently bought these 2 posters from eBayseller Lone-star-coin, now framed they hang in my office. size framed 40""x 28"" (greek) and 33""x24"" (Roman) please show your coin posters
Now all you need is to special order a coin tie from @TIF and you'll be set. Come to think of it, that wouldn't be a bad idea. I'd love to wear one myself.
I'd like to try making men's neckties with a coin theme but I have no idea about styles. Do any of you tie guys have suggestions? What is the current trend for width? Pattern? I think it might look best with a diagonal stripe of neatly arranged coins, but an all-over pattern might look okay. When I have some patterns worked out I'll post them. You can have ties custom printed on sites like Zazzle but they are of terrible quality. I'd rather print the design to silk and sew them myself with those fancy woven wool liners whose function is to give it volume and to keep it tidy.
Here is my home made poster. This one is going on exhibit at a coin convention this July. Sorry the screen shot is unreadable. The actual size is about 21X32 inches
Can't say I keep up with fashion, but my personal preference has always been a thinner tie (not too thing - don't need any bolas...) with just a single device on it. I would think multiple coins could become distracting. Cool posters Andres!
I have just received my poster last week from a guy on ebay. You can grab one for $15. with free shipping. Here is the link. http://www.ebay.com/itm/33x23-Roman...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
Any chance that you can enlarge the Nero aureus, sixth coin from top right in the Roman poster? It appears to be my coin: Thanks.
Yes, it's your coin Apparently there are different versions of this poster because Google found another seller of what appeared to be the same poster series but the coins were different. Nero, for instance was a denarius. Also, on the poster I found, your Nero aureus is the 7th coin from the right. Edited: oh, duh. The eBay listing does say "2016 Edition".
I have the 2016 Poster of the same one posted (slightly different) and your coin is the 7th over from top right of my poster and is identical.
I bought this mouse-pad in Italy: It gives me real pleasure to have it : Clearly, portraits were taken from coins.
Cool. Thanks for verifying this. I wonder if there are any other coins on the poster that are owned by the collectors on this site?
@IdesOfMarch01 - Yes, on my poster (ed.2013) your Nero coin is the 6th from the right.Do you get a fee from each poster sold ? @KIWITI , theres also a large poster with all the roman emperors depicted like the ones on your mousepad, which on itself would be good for framing. and I see you did the Grand Tour in Italy ? Tower of Pisa - Venice @TIF , I have no use for a necktie, never wear them, but a T-shirt would be great. -- This also is hanging in my office, a BP (British Petroleum) card with free giveaways at the time (1969) with each fill up you received one coin, the card itself was 10 cent US , sure got my attention for ancients at the time.
That would be a great addition to my man-cave. Yes, I had been there two times, alas no southern Italy though.
