I came across this old coin. I believe it is Roman? It looks like it has Caesar on it. I took a couple pictures. Just some advice on what it possibly is? Fairly new when it comes to ancient coins.
COPY...I think I've seen that in my Latin dictionary before. My "Latin" may be rusty, but I'm pretty sure it means fake, phony, do not pass go...do not collect $200 Dollars, etc. Oh, and a lot of things can be said about Caesar...he was bald, tall, had black eyes, a fair complexion, and a furrowed neck, etc., but I'm pretty sure he didn't have the body of a bull.
From my first post here: So, let's see how that whole "I'm only going to get 3 or 4 ancient coins a year" panned out. Oh, looks like I met my goal...and exceeded it by more than 1000%. But maybe I only meant Republican era coinage and the rest don't count. Well, I sort of underestimated that rate by 300% And I also love the prediction I made that I would one day get a Greek coin, but maybe not for a few years. I trashed that prediction within a week. Maybe ancients are just a little more addicting than I expected. It's all funny looking back on it. I also love the speech I gave about buying only slabbed coins. Newbies say the darnest things.
