    These two ancient coins arrived today

    Crispus AE3 Heraclea Mint
    Obverse:
    Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right
    CRISPVS NOB CAES
    Reverse:
    VOT X and star in wreath
    DOMINOR NOSTROR CAESS - Exergue: SMHG
    Catalog: RIC VII 61 (Roman Imperial Coins)

    Obverse:
    Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right
    D N CRISPO NOB CAES
    Reverse:
    Two Victories holding shield inscribed VOT P R on altar
    VICTORIAE LAETAE PRINC PERP - Exergue: Two captives
    Catalog: RIC VII 74

    Crispus was the oldest son of the Emperor Constantine I and Minervina.
    In AD 326 he was on the losing end of a political dispute with his
    father, who had him executed.

    Wonderful Crispus coins! The vertical arrangement of the XX on the reverse is different from what I'm used to seeing. And of course, the captive mintmark is amazing, one of my favorites.
