When you buy a roll at a bank, I have a few questions about that. 1. Lets say 50 pennies, does it cost 50 cents? 2. Are they all current date? Or could they have wheats in it and current? 3. Whats the probabillty of finding something cool or valuble? All help welcomed! Thanks!
1. Yes, but you usually wouldn't buy one roll. You would buy many rolls if you are a variety/error/ key date, etc. collector. 2. It all varies. So rolls may have all current dates, but many have candian cents, wheats, and if you are lucky, and Indian Head! 3. That is a hard question to answer, but you need to purchase the 2008(or 2009) redbook for specific prices and dates. It just takes time and patience, and you definitely have a good chance of finding something cool or valuable.
So pretty much any bank will have rolls. Only thing is I dont want a bunch of extra pennies laying around :headbang:
That is a very small odd. Here is a thread that shows people and their roll searching. http://www.cointalk.org/showthread.php?t=10176
Thats the beauty of roll searching. Lets say you buy 100 rolls. Maybe out of that 100 you might keep 3. Then go back to a different bank and drop of the excess. This way you will always have money. There no sense on holding onto coins you dont need. Just keep repeating the process. Buy rolls. Search through them. Take the excess coins back to a DIFFERENT bank, Then keep doing it. Eventually youll find something worth keeping. Thats what I do.:hail:
Well I guess lll stick to randomly finding coins or buying. This is to time consuming :headbang::headbang:
Yes but when you buy a coin there a premium that typically goes along with it. If you are getting coins at a bank your only paying for what your getting. A dollar for a dollar. Thats why there are a lot of roll serachers. How do you think dealers get some of their coins.
Yes, but I dont think people from ebay, and the dealer I know at a flea market gets all theirs from roll searching. The dealer has over 5000+ wheaties hes selling at $.25 each.
