1st box of cents, 2nd roll and out pops this lady. Shame about the green because she has pretty nice details underneath.

So I POWERED through two $500 boxes of quarters. Here's what I got:

    1 silver
    NO greasers
32 NP with die chips: several substantial chips--many small chips with multiples

I refuse to examine every coin with a high-powered magnifier. I simply visually scan the "eagle" coins for grease, die breaks or important dates. This is still fun. If I have to scrutinize every coin, it would become unpleasant and boring :)

The wonderful thing is that it is up to you; no approval from any of us is needed...not that you were asking. No penalties if a person variety hunts and no awards either. The reward is in 'doing'; finds are the ancillary benefits to CRH and perhaps makes things a little sweeter.

Yes, when I was in SoCal for Thanksgiving, I found several hundred 2018-Ds. Kept enough to make a roll of Uncs.

I usually just sort copper pennies, but one day I rounded up a little herd while filling the drawer at work with nickels.

  16. Looking through my rolls I found:
    1. 1911 Wheatie, worn
    2. A doubled buffalo back?
    3. An extra limb and shore line on a "Ocean in View O the joy"
Anyway, could you guys look at the Buffalo and extra limb and let me know what you think.

Why would anyone do such thing to a coin? Whoever wrote this, you can kiss my end.

Quarters pre-1965 are silver. Half dollars: 1964 or older are 90% and 1965-1969 are 40%'ers. Quarters you mentioned are face value. if your 2019 quarter has W, it's a good one.

0 for 91 boxes. I give up. Just bunch of proofs and NIFCs. And I kept shoving 1974s into big bag that I will examine later for DDOs.

Damn, this is expensive hobby, granted, I knew before I started it but wow, I swear finding a damn silver half coin would feel like the Cubs winning the World Series.
