I know this local merchant that says he has a whole roll of pennies that are blank on one side. Are they worth selling or is there value pretty low? What might he expect to get for them?

I'll ask him but I don't see him all that often so I don't know if he'll give one up or not. He says that the backs are smooth as if they were blank plachets.

Well I don't know much about errors but if bet I would bet that its a capped die....I have never heard of such a thing as a cent that is only stuck on one side...
If they are capped die I have seen them go for over $10 per coin...but if it is somehow faked...such as someone might have sanded off the back but I don't know if that is even a good guess...
