This ebay seller claims you can get a rebate from microsoft using "live" and get the roll for $277 by following a few simple steps, and if you buy three rolls it's like getting one free. Sound great, but is it too good to be true? Morgan Roll rebate auction
Lot of people use the cash back thing from Micro soft. Seems to work fine if you know what you are doing. I Like this guys how to directions. Saved it for future reference.
Spock had a thread about MS Live awhile back. Totally legit. I've used it. As far as whether the coins in the auction are any good, I have no idea, but the seller is correct about MS Live. The one drawback is that you get the 25% back 2 months later - so like at the end of January and it gets put in your PayPal account. And you have to go to Microsoft and click a button to get it sent to your PayPal account - it's not automatic. I'm sure they're hoping a certain percent will forget about it and not take that extra little step. It's GREAT for items that have Buy-it-now prices where that is the normal price - like coin supplies. 25% off is nothing to skip over because it "looks a little complicated".
it is too complicated. If you want to give me 25% off just make the cost less. I'm not a trained dog... Ruben
It is legit. And yes, Spock did have a post on this a long time ago. Although I've tried to use live.com and it hasn't worked worth a damn for me. Every ebay auction doesn't apply from what I understand. If you do a search through live.com, you get a whole mess of B.S. that comes up, even if you're looking for something specific. And then the buy it now prices are way up there on a lot so it's like on a lot of stuff, you don't save anything. I suspect sellers, just trying to take advantage of the promo. (Surprise!) It only works with buy it now, on auctions that has the live $ sign symbol. And then you still have to pay full price. Microsoft will then put your savings in your live account in 60-90 days, "depending on the auction". Then you have to bring it back to your paypal to get it. I agree. If they want to promote it, they should have made it easier and universal.
No, my comment is perfect sense for a company that has been convicted twice for anti-trust action and who has been shoving their live junk on the net for 5 years now without success because its stupid. But here Pocket Change.... try a concept that you may eventually come around to understand.... People aren't things to exploit and they have value more than being statistics for marketing data. Furthermore, you shouldn't have to be exposed the internet tracting device that MS uses with those discounts, or be victimized by an avalanche of spam and junk mail to get a discount. If they want to give you a discount, let them CHANGE LESS, no strings attached, no hoops to jump through. If that is too hard for you to grasp, then maybe you should head back to 4th grade. BTW - if your going to criticize me, try to use more than one sentence for your libelous slur. Maybe you blather about to hear yourself talk...but that is not I. If I'm going to read your nonsensical criticism, it should at least have some entertainment value to go along with its illconvenienced premise. Now aren't you missing your Black Friday holiday? Ruben
