Roll of Gem BU 1950- D Buy or Not ?

Thinking about buy a roll 1950- D Jefferson Gem B U Nickel @ $500 buck. Buy or Not Buy ???

One man's Gem BU is another man's VF. Redbook says $14 for MS-60. Personally I would pass. I have bought "Gem BU" rolls before and they were anything but "Gem BU". They had all been dipped and were very shiny, but, very circulated. Here is a picture of a roll I bought along with the best coin out of the roll. I think I paid less than $10 for the roll. It was still overpriced.

 

Depends on whether or not you are a coin dealer and how much you can flip them for.

 

At $12.50 per coin, I'd pass.

 

too much. When it is advertised as BU, it is usually in the MS60 range.

Wholesale is $275 right now. I have five rolls that are in those old style tubes that have shrunk so much that the coins can only be removed by ruining the tube. I opened one about 20 years ago and they were beautifully preserved. I would LOVE to get $500 a roil!

 

Sorry, but I refuse to pay that price.

Pass at $10 -12 retail these days you ll never make any profit. I still have about 15 laying around here.
