One of the most well read, personable, and respected coin book dealers has passed away. John Burns passed away in his hotel Friday night during the FUN show.

John carried a wide variety of books on coins, and personally read every single one of them so as to best suit his customers. My experience with him was as the big affable guy in the corner that I visited and talked about coins, books, politics, and anything else we happened to think of every time I went to CICF. I always left with at least one new book, and a lot of free knowledge.

    He will be missed. :(

I read about this in E-Sylum. Really surprising. Young too.

I read this on another forum and was shattered. John was a great friend and resource - he will be thoroughly missed.

Great guy, I spent a lot of time at the ANA talking to him each show that I attended.

    He will be missed.

Thanks for posting this notice. The world will certainly be a lesser place without John Burns.
