I found this in a roll of Polk dollars. The first two arrows show what looks like a letter B. This is not post mint error. The third arrow is post mint error.

Jello has it exactly right. It is not an error. It is post mint damage.

The edge lettering is incuse on a normal coin and when coins bang together edge to edge, the incuse lettering can act like a die and mark the edge of another coin.

Very common in the overall scheme of things.

    Thanks,
    Bill
