I was uncertain about the 2nd one being pmd, I know the pics are not so good. the first one however looks like it has a 2nd smaller chip above it and maybe a crack extending to the rim
They both look like die chips to me. The 1st looks like it may have pushed from the design by pmd but the 2nd chip above it also looks protruding and unconnected to the larger, which would mean a chip in the die. Ive seen the 2nd coin's error listed as a CUD on ebay but, if my research is teaching me anything, that would actually also be a chip, as a true CUD would show metal coming from the rim INWARD toward the coin, covering all design within that space. This one looks disconnected from the actual rim. Also, im new and may be an idiot.
I agree on both. it looks like one was split. the other with the 2 "chips" as I stated about a possible crack visible...could it be the beginning of this other one I found?
