the oddest part of this coin IMO is the running wavy line Fri Jul 27 10-12-36.jpg Fri Jul 27 10-12-47.jpg Fri Jul 27 10-13-23.jpg Fri Jul 27 10-14-22.jpg Fri Jul 27 10-16-21.jpg Fri Jul 27 10-18-18.jpg Fri Jul 27 10-18-45.jpg Fri Jul 27 10-19-05.jpg along the bridge start to finish but does not appear anywhere else. everywhere else arrows are other than bridge have noticeably weakened features or are gone. you really see it in between the sails in I believe the 5th picture. the bridge section on the right does not touch sail. features in the water are missing. also... if this makes any sense. if you look at a quarter in hand the sails are raised right? these are all flat??

The squiggly line in the bridge is a normal feature of that coin.

Looks like you have a regular quarter.

I'm going to guessing die deterioration.

The wavy line you see is a representation of the trusses under the bridge.
    Normal for the coin.
Everything else is die deterioration and 17 years of circulation.

ya know... I looked at 2 other quarters for comparison and those wavy lines are not visible. hence my excitement lol. could die deterioration cause all the features in between the main sail and the smaller sail to vanish completely??

Yes, as well as circulation wear. The same could be blamed for the missing trusses.

could always look online at pictures for uncirculated or proof coins to see design characteristics instead of other circulated change.

Would an over polished die cause this, such as in the LMC floating roof?
