Retained die breaks(chips) obv/rev

Hey All,
Came across this in a roll of dimes from the bank. So what do you guys think? Also what is the proper term please.

If they were retained breaks on the surface of the dies, they would show up as depressions on the coin. They look like they are ordinary die chips.....maybe gouges on the die.....since they look to be raised on the coin.

Are these keepers and is it unusual to have this on both sides?

 

Let's put it this way.......they're not worth anything over face value (except to a bidiot) but you might want to keep them as reference pieces.
