Results of 2nd experiment (thread - what can I do for these proofs)

    OK, so I left the three coins in 3 separate shot glasses overnight (approx 7 hours).
    Fotos are loaded below, before and after. The before fotos of the kennedy half, either disappeared or I forgot to save it, so the after foto from yesterday will have to suffice.
    I am quite happy with the difference in their appearance, for example the frosty look of the devices is more pronounced. I hope this has been of some benefit to members who have either wanted to try acetone on proofs or who can use it as a reference for anything in the future

    I always dip spotted or hazy proofs [not cents] in 50 % ammonia and distilled water...only for a few seconds. Many of you are against this method, but it works very well. Be sure to rinse well in distilled water, then dip in alcohol for a fast dry. Never touch the faces with anything...handle edges only.
